Kern River

We took the opportunity to go to the Kern River on Monday since Ty had the day off. Instead of just playing in the river, we decided to take a hike up the mountain to a waterfall (it's been about 8yrs since Ty and I had hiked there). After 3 hrs of hiking we were there. Ty and JJ were the first to swim across to the fall. Ty then took Ian across and back, then he took me and then Ian again. The water was very cold, but at the same time very refreshing. It took only 1 1/2hrs to get back to the car. Ty carried Luke both ways. Ian did great on the way up the mountain, hiking all by himself, but on the way back JJ carried him. After the hike we made our way back to Kernville to have lunch at the park.

oops!

I forgot the pictures of the dolphins we saw when we were at the beach on Friday. Thanks Serina.

Serina has more pictures of the beach on her site :)

Beach Trip

Friday (7-24) we went to the beach with Sean, Serina and JJ. We ended up at a small beach north of Ventura and South of Carpenteria. We had a great time and I can't wait to go again.

Fun Times in Folsom

Last Monday I packed the kids along with my two nephews, leaving Ty behind, for a long ride to Folsom to spend the week with my sister and her husband.
While we were there, we decided to take the boys to see some sites.
Tuesday we took the boys to a Glow in the Dark Minature Golf place. They had alot of fun. Ian didn't really know what to do at first, but he kinda got the hang of it after awhile...he'd put the ball about 1ft away from the hole and then hit it in :) Luke just sat in his stroller.

Tuesday was also Luke's 4mo birthday!!!

Wednesday, we went into Sacramento. We dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. Then we took a stroll through the downtown mall and under the freeway into Old Town Sacramento. After that we took the boys to see the state capitol. Ian tried to open the front doors, but he didn't have any luck...you have to use a side entrance to get in.

Thursday, we went to the Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield (about 1hr from my sister's house). We took a tour of the factory, which was alot different than when my step-mom took me when I was 10.

Friday, we spent the day relaxing. We played outside with the water snake, we played with bubbles and we played with Jenn's Catapults.

Ice Cream Saturdae

For Michelle's B-Day we had friends over on Saturday and did an open bar Ice Cream thing. So we had a bunch of toppings available like fruit, sprinkles, carmel, Oreos, and nuts. The idea was to make the most delicious and best looking ice cream creations possible, and here is what we came up with.

I thought these were really cute pictures, so I thought I'd share. The top one was at Nathan's Birthday Party. The bottom one was taken at home...Ian wanted to read Luke a book.

Wow! 100 Already?

I thought since it's my Birthday, I'd use my 100th post on Me :)
It's hard to believe that another year has come and gone.

Cheese!!

Lately, Ian's taken a real interest my camera. So the other day I decided to let him take some pictures (all by himself) with my old camera. Here's some of the good ones...
These were taken at Nathan's B-day party last night

Camping and Fireworks

On Friday Ty, Ian and the guys (Jon, Nathan, Grandpa Hansen, Jason and Gabe) went on an overnight camp out in Tehachapi. Ty said they had a fun time and it was a good thing I packed an extra outfit for Ian since both boys got very dirty!

On Saturday, everyone (Jon, Jo, Teresa, Nathan, Sean and Serina) came to our house for a little "Independance Day" Celebration. We had yummy hamburgers, fireworks and some homemade ice cream. We even picked the watermelon from our garden...it was good, but not quite ripe.

(Jolene has more pictures of the camp out and the 4th on her site, the link is on the right)
