Sunset at the Beach

Sunday afternoon, we hit the beach. Since we arrived a little later than normal, we decided to stay and watch the sunset.

There was a man there fishing. By the time he left he caught about 10fish. He let all the kids around help him, it was really cute.
We saw a couple horses, and a lot of boats

Ian drew himself in the sand. And we made a sand castle
The sunset was amazing!

Clark Pest Control Company Picnic

Every year around this time, my Mom's work holds it's company pic-nic. The boys had a great time at the Pic-nic. They both got Dragon's painted on their faces. They especially loved Bo-bo the clown and Yip-yip his monkey! Bo-bo make Luke a Dino-hat and Ian a Viking-hat and a "shoot gun". After yummy lunch, Ian got his shot at hitting the pinata. He didn't break it, but he got a few good swings in. After the pinata, we hit the spary park then went home. It was a long 5hrs, but super-fun!

18months

Today was Luke's half Birthday. 1 1/2! Wow how time flies!

Lukes's normally really good at his ABC's and 123's (up to 11), but brother's very good at distracting him!

Chuck E Cheese

Sunday, my Aunt Tammy, Uncle Don and Cousin Emily came into town to take the boys to Chuck E Cheese's. The kids had an awesome time! I'd have taken more pictures, but I was having fun, too :0)

Greek Food Festival

Every year the Greek orthodox church on Union holds a Greek Food Festival. My parents go faithfully every year...I've missed the last 3, but I was able to go this last Saturday with my parents and the boys (Ty had to work). The food, of course was awesome! I especially love the baklava (it's a dessert). They always have Greek dancing, too. They even have people there who will teach you, if you want. The boys loved the music, Luke just couldn't get enough! Ian had a ball on the bounce houses they had there. He even got a couple shots at the sports bounce house, the older kids kinda took that one over (it had 5 sides; baseball, soccer, football, basketball and darts). Ie liked the baseball side the best.

Heart Park/Calm

Since Ty had last Friday off, we took the opportunity to go to Heart Park for a picnic lunch. The boys weren't all that interested in eating lunch, so they played on the toys while Ty and I ate. After we were done, some nice people left us some popcorn so we could feed the ducks, which the boys really enjoyed.

Then we headed off to CALM to look at the animals.

Luke

This is what happens when you let an 18month old dress himself...

The ants go marching!

This blob was once a ritz cracker...It had only been on the ground 5min. before the ants found it :)

Kern River Trip

Last Saturday, we were bored so we (along with our friend Corey) decided to take a drive through the canyon. Our first stop was at Big Meadow to have lunch to explore a little.
Then we stopped along the road to play a bit in the water. Ian was a little scared, but got up enough nerve to go out with Ty and myself to pose for a couple pictures. Luke, on the other hand, was fearless! We had to keep a close watch on him...he loved the water and the current.
We stopped to have some Ice Cream, before heading home (it's becoming a little tradition of ours).

Attack of the Tomato Worm!

We found these guys in our garden on Saturday morning. We are pretty sure there are more than just the 3 we counted.

Mattson Visit

Ty ended up taking Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday off so we could spend time with TY's older sister Jenny and her family. We haven't seen Jenny or her family since we got married in 2005 (we've never met their 2 youngest girls).

Monday, August 30...
We met up with some of Ty's family at Ty's parents' house in Tehachapi around 1pm. We decided to check out the Ostrich Farm, which is always super-cool. After the Farm, we headed back to Ty's parents' house for dinner with the rest of the family that had arrived. Altogether there was 25 of us (our family, Ty's parents, Gabe, Desi, Gma Beth, Aunt Kathy and her son, Jason, Amy and the girls, Jon and Jo and their kids, and of couse Jenny and Chris and their family)

Here we are at the Indian Point Ostrich Farm.

Tuesday, August 31...
Ty's parents, Gabe, Desi, Jenny, Chris and their kids arrived at our house a little after noon. We ate lunch, then the slip n slide fun began! Jolene arrived with Nathan around 1, and then with Teresa around 3. Amy, along with her girls and Jason arrived around 2pm. All the kids had a ball. The swing set was a huge hit as well.
Around 4:30 we packed up and headed to the park for dinner.
