Just A-swingin'

Yesterday, the boys and I went over to my parents' house. We put up the swing for Luke. I'm not sure if he liked it, but he didn't cry.
Ian liked pushing Luke in the swing

Although I think he liked swinging "really high" the best.

Luke 2.5months in the swing

Ian 2.5months (11/19/06) in the same swing.

Planes, Trains and Ostriches

Since we were bored on Friday, we decided to go to Tehachapi and see my parents. They were camping again. This was the view from my parents' campsite. The airstrip was right behind them and off to the left was the airport. The majority of the planes flown there weren't planes at all but instead gliders.

Since I was very tired from looking at the gliders on Friday, we spent the night. On Saturday, we went to the Indian Point Ostrich farm. On the way, we saw cows, horses and sheep. Ian especially loved the sheep. We even pulled over and he got to talk to them for awhile. He learned that sheep say "maaa" not "baaa". And whenever he would "maaa" at them, they would turn their heads and "maaa" back. It was very cute.
When we got to the ostrich farm, we took a tour. Ian loved the "big Ducks". Below is a picture of Ian with Ralph the Ostrich and another of him holding an ostrich egg.

After the ostrich farm, we went to the Tehachapi Loop to look at trains. Ian loves trains!
Then we headed back to camp so we could pack our stuff to go home.

Buena Vista

This last weekend we went camping with my parents at Buena Vista. Even with the temperature being over 100, we still managed to have alot of fun. Luke did awesome camping...he slept pretty much the whole time!

Ian had a blast with the bubbles, the fishing pole and the jeep my parents brought for him to play with.
Both boys slept great in the tent.
We didn't swim very much, the water was very dirty, but it was nice to have so we could cool off a little.
Ty made a boat. Ian wanted to help!
Luke didn't seem to mind the fire, Ian was a bit scared!

Blue's Clues

Today, after seeing the doctor, Ian, Luke and I decided to go visit my mom at her work. As we drove down Truxtun Avenue, Ian started yelling "a clue, a clue" It took me a while but I finally figured out what he was talking about, there was a sign on the side of a school that looked like the paw print from "Blue's Clues".
On the way home I drove by the school again so I could get a picture.

Mother's Day weekend

Friday night, Luke, Ian and I went to my parent's house to play games. The picture below is of my mom and older sister Jennifer arm wrestling (it was a challenge from one of the games we played). We stayed up playing 'til midnight. Since, Luke and Ian had already fallen asleep, and I was really tired we stayed the night.

The next morning (Saturday), around 10am, we left for home, Jennifer and Jessica came over to play more games.
Around 4:30pm Sean, Serina, Jon, Jolene, Teresa, Nathan and my Mom came over for pizza. The Guys left around 5:30pm to go "Airsofting" and us girls stayed and watched "Bride Wars" (sorry no pictures).
The next morning, Mother's Day, we got up at 6am so we could go to Tehachapi to see Ty's mom , they had to be at church at 9am. Before, we left Ian showed me a basket on the table that had my name on it. In it was; a card from Ty, a bag of reces peices, a bag of almonds and 2 heart shaped letters one was from Ian and the other from Luke they were cute and I even cried a little (Ty did a really good job on interpreting their feelings). Below is a picture of Luke and I outside Ty's parents' house. Below that is a picture of Ty's Mom, Grandma and Aunts.

After visiting for a while, we left Tehacahpi and headed back to Bakersfield to celebrate Mother's Day with my side of the family. We went to the Riverlakes Pool and had Famous Dave's for lunch. Ian loved the water and Luke slept most of the day.

Valentine's Day/Mother's Day

Ty had a great idea to make me some unique picture frames for some of the photos I've taken. His idea was to make it so the picture were intractable, meaning they could be rotated (horizontally and vertically) and they could also be taken out of the frame base.
He began his project a few days before Valentine's Day. They were completed and put on our entry way wall a couple days before Mother's Day. He did such an awesome job.

EggsActly

Before I tell the story, I have to give a little background: A couple weeks ago my Dad convinced Ian he could lay eggs. He would have Ian squat and push, then my Dad would show him an egg (which he had gotten from the fridge a couple minutes before without Ian knowing).

So......

Yesterday morning, after feeding Luke, I walked into the living room. There was Ian with this pants down bent over looking between his legs.
The conversation went like this:

"What are you doing?"
Very seriously Ian said "Mommy, egg coming!"
"There is no egg"
"Yes Mommy. It coming"
"I don't think so"
"Yes, here it come"
"Pull you're pants up, there is no egg"
"No, Mommy EGG!!!"
I walked over to him and told him "There... I just looked and there's no egg. Are you sure you don't have to go the bathroom?"
"No Mommy, no potty. Egg coming!"
This went on for a couple more minutes before he finally gave up and put his pants back on.

It gets better...
So, later that afternoon, I was sitting on the floor and I got up a little too fast
(I hurt my tailbone on Monday, fight with a lounge chair, it won)!
All I said was "ouch" and I put my hand on my lower back.
Ian saw this. Ran over to me and said "Egg Mommy?" Then he started looking for the egg.
So, thanks Dad! Not only does Ian lay eggs, but I guess I do too! LOL

Bathtime

The other day I mentioned to Ian that when Luke gets a little bit older they can take a bath together. Yesterday, when I was giving Ian a bath he asked if Luke could take one too.
