Evelyn Family Reunion (and more)

We started our trip to Provo, Utah on Wednesday, June 30th. Our first stop was at my sister Amber's new house in LaVerkin, Utah. We woke up early the next morning, so we decided to take a little walk and see if we could find some hidden treasures (aka Geocaching). We went to 3 different locations (all within walking distance of Amber's house), but we had no luck at finding the Geocaches.

(left) Luke and Molly (right) one of the Geocaches led us down this pipe and along the Virgin River
We packed up from Amber's around noon on the 1st and headed to our next location, Kenan's house in Hooper, Utah. While we were there, we checked out a few more Geocache locations. We found 4 of the 6 we went out looking for.

Our next stop was at a friend's house (Nolan and Alisa), which we would be staying at until the reunion was over on Sunday. We got to Murray, Utah around 1pm on the 2nd. Since Nolan had to work, we just relaxed a little and let the kids play. We left at 5pm for dinner which was the start of the Evelyn Family Reunion. We had hamburgers and hot dogs, then a game and s'mores.

Base camp for the reunion was at this campground!
Saturday's reunion activities started pretty early, which was great since the kids wake up at 5am. First was the Provo Hot Air Balloon Festival. We didn't get to see all the balloons take off (it got too windy) but we were able to see 3 of them in the air.

After the Balloons we went to base camp for pancake breakfast and then to one of the parks in Provo where they reenacted Ellis Island.

We arrived at base camp around noon. Luke was tired so we took a nap :)
After our naps, we went on a rafting trip down the Provo River with Uncle Robert. The 8miles rafting trip was pretty neat, Ian loved it and Luke cried...well until we flipped and then Luke loved it and Ian wanted off (Ian was a good sport and finished the ride). *don't worry we're all ok, the river was only 4ft deep and we all had life jackets on!
When we got back to camp, drenched from the river, we decided to hike up to Bridal Veil Falls. The walk wasn't very far from camp, But then Ty got this crazy idea to hike UP into the falls. Which I'm glad he did, it was awesome up there and the kids loved playing in the water.

That night we had an awesome chicken dinner, and then left for Nolan and Alisa's. Sunday morning, we were suppose to go check out Temple Square and the Capital Building in Salt Lake before heading to our next destination, but Ian and I came down with the flu (Ty didn't get it until Tuesday morning).
So, around noon (Ian was feeling much better, I was still a bit under the weather), we packed up and headed to Cottonwood Cove, Nevada. We got there around 7pm on Sunday night, so we just ate dinner and went to bed. The next morning, we went out on the River!!! Super fun. My Aunt, Uncle and cousins were there (and Emily's friend Ana). Around noon my Grandparents arrived.

On Tuesday, we went out on the river for a couple hours while Ty slept a little, then we headed back home...I was so happy to see my bed, and Jaina!
Thanks again to Amber, Kenan, Nolan and Alisa for letting us crash with you 'cause we are too cheap to get a hotel
(and we're so sorry if we got you sick)
