Just 'cuz

I thought these were really cute pictures, so I thought I'd share. The top one was at Nathan's Birthday Party. The bottom one was taken at home...Ian wanted to read Luke a book.

Wow! 100 Already?

I thought since it's my Birthday, I'd use my 100th post on Me :)
It's hard to believe that another year has come and gone.

Cheese!!

Lately, Ian's taken a real interest my camera. So the other day I decided to let him take some pictures (all by himself) with my old camera. Here's some of the good ones...
These were taken at Nathan's B-day party last night

Camping and Fireworks

On Friday Ty, Ian and the guys (Jon, Nathan, Grandpa Hansen, Jason and Gabe) went on an overnight camp out in Tehachapi. Ty said they had a fun time and it was a good thing I packed an extra outfit for Ian since both boys got very dirty!

On Saturday, everyone (Jon, Jo, Teresa, Nathan, Sean and Serina) came to our house for a little "Independance Day" Celebration. We had yummy hamburgers, fireworks and some homemade ice cream. We even picked the watermelon from our garden...it was good, but not quite ripe.

(Jolene has more pictures of the camp out and the 4th on her site, the link is on the right)

Bedtime buddy

Sometimes being a parent is the greatest thing. I look at how fast the past years have flown by and somehow want them to just stop. I am not looking forward to the day when Ian (or Luke) is no longer my little boy. But that sad day will come when he no longer needs Mommy for everything...

Somewhere between 1 and 2 am this morning, I heard the sound of shuffling tiny feet at my bedroom door. Then a gentle touch to my face and a soft whisper "mommy?" I pretended I was sleeping to see what Ian would do next and hoping he would just go back to bed. Instead, I heard more feet shuffling (to the other side of the bed, of course) and a soft "daddy?". I waited for Ty to answer, but he didn't. Then I heard Ian's little feet move once more, now he was at the end of the bed. I waited to see what he would do. Without making any sound, he got onto our bed and under the covers. He then put his hand on my cheek and a gave me a kiss on my forehead (which is funny because I go in at night and do the same thing to him while he sleeps...he must not really be sleeping). Then he put his head down with his one hand on my heart and the other holding my index and middle finger.

Unfortunately, Ian had to go back to his own bed about and hour later (don't worry he was ok with it).

Weekend Fun

We had alot of fun Saturday. My dad, step-mom and sister were in town and stopped by in the morning to play with the kids and take us all out for an early lunch. After lunch we said our good byes and headed home for a quick nap. When Ian woke from nap, we left to go to Jon and Jo's for Teresa's 11th birthday party. The party was alot of fun and Teresa got some really neat gifts. After the party, instead of leaving when everyone else did, Ty and I (and the kids, of course) decided to stay and chat for awhile, we were there 'til 10pm....
Sorry Jon and Jo.
